The reason for this problem can be a number of occurrences. But the most usual cause is the engine knocking system failure. Engine knocking takes place when the fuel(gasoline) starts to burn unevenly in the cylinder chamber.

Problem 2: The Failure of TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)
Throttle position sensor or throttle body sensor failure is another commonly taken place problem that Chevy 6.0 Engine owners have to go through. TPS is a sensor that is located somewhere near the throttle body. The purpose it serves is- it controls the airflow that goes directly to the Chevy 6.0 Engine. From there, it also determines how much fuel spray the fueling system can throw into the engine as well.
However, you can already guess what happens when the TPS goes wrong with its job, right?
Well, it starts delivering the wrong signal of air-flow reading to the engine. As a direct consequence, the engine delivers either too much or too less amount of fuel into the fuel system.

Problem 3: Failure of The Engine Water Pump
This particular problem that we’re going to talk about now is less likely to happen in new engines, and more likely to happen with older engines. If you ask us how older, we can provide you with a fair estimate.
Engines that had surpassed the milestone of 150,000 miles of the run, might come up with water pump issues and maybe a water pump failure. In case the running mileage is double that, it’s always a wise move to replace the water pump with a new one.
Usually, symptoms like engine overheating, radiator leaking steam, loosening up pulley of the water pump, and leaking-prone water pump are the common symptoms of a failing water pump. Problem 4: Exhaust Leaking Problem

Firstly, check for a minor leak around the exhaust system. Ihave the chevy 2500 6.0 2006 by reading the trouble shooting make sense at all I been cheking with the scanner and I got code PO300 which is misfire I allready change the spark plug,cables and coils and adding inyector cleaner to the fuel tank and still getting the same code so only I got left is to follow your sugestion and I hope to fix my problem thanks.
I have a 2003 Chevy 2500 HD 6.0 gas motor. When I start the truck in the morning I will get a code 300 misfire. After I clear the code the truck runs fine. I have had all the senior changed and still have the same problem. Is there a senior for a cold start up. Get frustrated I have spent over 3000.00 and still have the same problem. Can you help.
